Microsoft 365 and Outlook Quick Start # Microsoft 365 and Outlook Quick Start Microsoft 365 is a productivity suite developed by Microsoft that includes Outlook, its email service. Connect the Microsoft 365 and Outlook Channel on respond.io to handle customer email conversations in the platform. ## Before you begin You'll need: * **A respond.io account** — A respond.io account is required to access the sign-up flow. * **A Microsoft 365** or **Outlook account** — Required to connect the Channel. ## Connecting Microsoft 365 and Outlook 1. Navigate to **Workspace settings** \> **Channels** \> click **Add Channel**. 2. Click **Connect** again. 4. Sign in to your Microsoft 365 or Outlook account. 5. Click **Accept**. ## Configuring the Channel To configure the Channel: 1. Navigate to **Workspace settings** \> **Channels**. 2. Locate the Microsoft 365 and Outlook Channel card > Click **Manage** \> **Configuration**. * You can configure the following: * **Channel Name**: The internal name used to identify this account. * **Sender Name**: The name your Contacts see as the email sender in their inbox. By default, this includes the assigned agent's name (using variables) and your company name. * **Workflow Sender Name**: The sender name shown to Contacts when the email is sent through a Workflow. By default, this is set to your company name. * **Signature**: Automatically added to all outgoing emails. You can write a custom signature or hide it by unchecking the checkbox. The default format is: _Regards_ _\[Agent's first and last name\]_ _\[Company name\]_ * **Hide respond.io branding in reply:** Option to hide respond.io branding in replies to your Contacts. Available on paid plans. * **Default copied email address**: Option for emails added here to be automatically copied in every outgoing email. * **HTML Background**: Enables or disables the HTML background in outgoing emails. 3. Click **Done** to update the Channel configuration‌. ## FAQ and troubleshooting ### Which Microsoft accounts can be connected? Both Microsoft 365 and personal Outlook accounts can be connected. ### Can I connect a shared mailbox? No, shared mailboxes are not supported at this time. ### Why am I seeing the error, “This Microsoft account has no mailbox. Connect a different one.”? This error happens because the Microsoft account you're trying to connect doesn't have an associated mailbox. Try connecting a different account that has a mailbox. ### What should I do if my Microsoft account permission expired? Go to **Workspace Settings** \> **Channels** \> select your **Microsoft 365 and Outlook Channel** \> click **Manage** \> **Troubleshoot** \> click **Refresh Permission**.
