The command palette is a keyboard-driven overlay that opens on top of whatever you're working on. Use it to find a conversation, act on it, or jump to another page without navigating there first. This article explains how to open the command palette, search for conversations, run conversation actions, and navigate to pages.
Open the command palette
The command palette opens with a keyboard shortcut from any module or page on the platform.
Operating system | Shortcut |
|---|---|
Mac |
|
Windows |
|

To close the command palette, press Esc or click anywhere outside it.
Move around the command palette
When the command palette opens, focus is placed on the search bar automatically, so you can start typing right away.
Navigate using either the keyboard or the mouse:
↑/↓— move between itemsEnter— select the highlighted itemEsc— close the command palette
Keyboard shortcuts are not translated. They stay in English regardless of the language set for your Workspace.
What's in the command palette
The command palette contains the following sections, in this order:
Search bar — the main input field
Recent searches — your last searches, shown only if you have search history
Conversations — search conversations by name, or filter them by Contact field
Inbox actions — actions for the conversation you’re viewing, shown only in the Inbox module
Pages — every page you have access to
Search for conversations
Start typing in the search bar to search across Contact name, email, phone number, and identifier.
Up to 20 results appear at a time. If there are more, a Show more button appears at the end of the list — select it to load the next 20 results.
For a narrower search, use one of the two Conversations options below.
Search conversations by name
Type conversation: to search conversations by Contact name.
Here's how this search behaves:
Before you type a name, the most recent Contact names appear.
As you type after
conversation:, results narrow to matching Contacts. If nothing matches,
No results foundappears.
Each result shows the Contact name along with their email address and phone number. If the Contact has neither saved, no additional details appear.
Selecting a result opens that conversation in the Inbox module.

Filter conversations by field
Type conversation@ to filter conversations by a Contact field — for example, a company name stored in a custom field.
To filter conversations by field:
Type
conversation@in the search bar.Select a Contact field from the list.
Type the value you're looking for.

Here's how this search behaves:
Before you select a field, every Contact field that supports the
containsoperator appears. After you select a field, the empty state prompts you with
Type a [contact field name] to search— for example,Type a First Name to search. As you type a value, results narrow to Contacts whose field matches.
If nothing matches,
No results foundappears.
Shortcut prefixes such as
conversation:andconversation@are not translated. They stay in English regardless of your Workspace language.
Recent searches
The recent searches section shows your 5 most recent searches. It appears only once you have search history in the command palette.
Each entry is labelled with the section it came from — Conversations or Pages.
Selecting a recent search runs that search again, or navigates to that page.
Inbox actions
When you’re in the Inbox module, the command palette also lists actions for the conversation you have opened. Trigger an action either by selecting it in the command palette or by pressing its keyboard shortcut.
Action | Shortcut | What it does |
Close conversation |
| Opens the Closing Notes dialog, then closes the conversation. Your Workspace closing-note settings still apply. |
Open conversation |
| Reopens a closed conversation. |
Assign to |
| Opens the assignment list so you can assign the conversation to anyone. |
Snooze |
| Opens the snooze options so you can choose a snooze duration. |
Unsnooze |
| Unsnoozes a snoozed conversation. |
Shortcuts |
| Opens the list of Shortcuts so you can trigger a Workflow. |
Update Lifecycle Stage |
| Opens the list of Lifecycle Stages so you can move the Contact to another stage. |
Copy Contact ID |
| Copies the Contact ID to your clipboard. |
Copy Phone Number |
| Copies the Contact's phone number to your clipboard. |
Some actions appear only when they apply to the conversation's current state:
Close conversation appears only while the conversation is open.
Open conversation appears only while the conversation is closed.
Unsnooze replaces Snooze while the conversation is snoozed.
Return to the command palette
When an action opens a dialog or sub-page, a breadcrumb appears at the top. Select Conversation actions in the breadcrumb to go back to the main command palette.
Copy actions
Copy Contact ID and Copy Phone Number close the command palette and show a confirmation. For example:
Contact ID 00000001 copiedPhone number +6012345678 copied
Copy Phone Number is greyed out when the Contact has no phone number, or when phone number masking is applied to your access level. The keyboard shortcut does nothing in these cases.
Navigate to pages
The Pages section lists the navigable pages on the platform, so you can move to any of them without using the navigation bar.
Select a page to go straight to it.
Pages you don't have access to appear greyed out and can't be selected.
Access and visibility
The command palette follows the same permissions you already have elsewhere on the platform. It doesn't expose anything you can't otherwise see.
Conversation results are limited to records you have permission to view, in line with Restricted Contact Visibility.
Pages are listed according to your module access. Pages outside your access are greyed out and not clickable.
Phone numbers and email addresses follow your Workspace masking settings. Where masking applies, identifiers appear as
*****5678 | ****@gmail.cominstead of+6012345678 | abcd@gmail.com.
FAQ and troubleshooting
Can I open the command palette by clicking a button?
No. The command palette opens only with Cmd + K on Mac or Ctrl + K on Windows.
Why is a Contact field missing from the field filter?
The conversation@ filter lists only Contact fields that support the contains operator. If a field you need isn't listed, use Advanced Filters or a Segment instead.
Learn more about filtering and sorting conversations and Segments.
Why is a page greyed out?
You don't have access to that page. Greyed-out pages match the module access already set for your role — the command palette shows them for orientation but won't navigate to them.
Why is Copy Phone Number greyed out?
Either the Contact has no phone number saved, or phone number masking is applied to your access level.
Are the keyboard shortcuts and search prefixes available in my language?
No. Shortcuts and prefixes such as conversation: stay in English regardless of the language set for your Workspace.
Can I search for a specific Workflow, AI Agent, Snippet or file?
Not by name. The command palette searches conversations and pages.
You can still navigate to the pages where these live — Workflows, AI Agents, Snippets and Files all appear in the Pages section — but you'll pick the individual item once you're there.
