- Track CSAT scores, contact lifecycle stages and ad performance at scale

- Log data from any channel, including WhatsApp, Messenger or TikTok
- Retry automatically up to 3 times when Google’s API rate limit is reached
Why use respond.io for Google Sheets
Respond.io is built for mid-market B2C businesses that report on conversations in Google Sheets. The Workflow step only adds new rows at the bottom of a worksheet. If you rename, rearrange or delete columns while the Workflow is live, new rows can land in the wrong columns. To update or delete existing rows, use Make, n8n or Zapier.
- Rows land in a live sheet your team already shares, with no manual exports
- Formulas calculate values the moment each row is added
- If Google’s quota is hit and retries fail, the contact skips the step and the rest of the Workflow keeps running
- Enterprise-grade reliability with 99.999% uptime, ISO 27001, GDPR compliance and role-based access controls
FAQs about Google Sheets integration
Can respond.io read or update data in Google Sheets?
No. The native step only adds new rows, so it can’t read, look up or edit existing ones. To create contacts or send messages when a row is added in Sheets, connect the two through Make, n8n or Zapier.
Which respond.io plan includes the Google Sheets step?
Growth and above. The Add Google Sheets Row step is part of Workflows, which aren’t available on Starter.
Will editing my Google Sheet break the connected Workflow?
It can. Renaming the sheet or tab, rearranging columns or deleting rows while the Workflow is live causes mismatched data. Stop the Workflow first, update the column mapping, then republish.
What happens if a row fails to write?
The Workflow keeps going. If Google’s API quota is hit, the step retries up to 3 times, a minute apart. If every retry fails, or the sheet lacks edit access or is full, no row is added and the contact continues through the rest of the Workflow.
